The simple terms for sponsoring a page on Cheltenham Open Data.

What you get

  • Founding / Standard: one “supported by” card on the page you choose — your logo, a short line about your business, and a link.
  • Premium: primary position across the site (excluding community pages), plus a sponsored mention in a site announcement post.
  • No more than two sponsor cards appear on any one page.
  • Your link is marked rel="sponsored", in line with Google’s guidance.

Billing and term

  • Prices are per calendar month, paid in advance by card through Stripe.
  • There is a minimum term of three months from your start date.
  • After the minimum term, sponsorship continues month to month until you cancel.
  • No VAT is charged.
  • Founding rate: if you join on a founding rate, that price is held for 12 months from your start date.

Cancelling

  • You can cancel any time after the three-month minimum — through the Stripe billing portal (linked on your receipts) or by emailing me.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid month; your card stays live until then.
  • Payments already made are not refunded for part-months.

Your advert content

  • You provide your logo and a short line of copy; I’ll help size and format it.
  • I approve all content before it goes live, and may ask for changes.
  • Sponsors must be a genuine, lawful business relevant to local readers. I may decline or remove a sponsorship that isn’t a good fit or could mislead readers — if I do, I’ll refund any paid-for time.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your advert and any claims made in it.

Placement

  • Card position within a page may vary, and where two sponsors share a page they may appear in either order.
  • I can’t guarantee a specific slot beyond what your tier describes.
  • Community pages (food banks, helplines) and utility pages (contact, about, privacy) carry no adverts.

Traffic and results

  • The site is new and growing. I’m happy to share current visitor numbers on request, but I can’t guarantee any level of traffic, clicks or enquiries.

Editorial independence

  • Sponsorship never influences the data or the editorial content of the site. Adverts are always clearly labelled as sponsored.

Changes to these terms

  • I may update these terms from time to time; the current version always lives on this page. Any change won’t affect your founding-rate lock or your current paid month.
