• It depends on where the water is coming from. For flooding from a river, call the Environment Agency on 0800 80 70 60. For surface water or groundwater, contact Gloucestershire County Council on 01452 425 000. For flooding on a road, call county highways on 08000 514 514, and for a public sewer, Severn Trent on 0800 783 4444.

Does the Council Give Out Sandbags?

• No. Cheltenham Borough Council doesn't supply sandbags to individual homes. It keeps a small stock to protect places such as hospitals, schools and electricity substations if flooding affects the town.
• Sandbags, flood boards and air brick covers are sold by most builders' merchants and online.
