Cheltenham offers an excellent mix of vibrant “third spaces”, which are places that are neither home (first space) nor work (second space) where you can gather, relax, or work in a community-minded setting. There is of course a whole range of coffee shops and cafes that allow for informal workspaces.

School House Cafe, Cheltenham

The School House Café is a community café in St. Paul’s, providing a space for everyone. Our large community space is used for regular and one-off community events and the playroom is always open for families to have a place for children to play.

Cheltenham Borough Council Hubs

Offering a range of fun and social activities for all ages, including after school clubs, youth clubs, regular lunch clubs and community events. The hubs also act as a base for other community organisations to deliver regular clubs and workshops.

The Inclusion Hub, Cheltenham

A weekly drop-in an informal setting. Activities include crafts, colouring, jigsaws, games and an opportunity to chill and chat. Open to anyone of any ability living in Cheltenham. This club also provides a source of information, signposting and advice, and training for disabled and non-disabled residents.

Hosting over 3000 events and offering a day pass for £20 + VAT for a desk with dedicated 1GB broadband and private phone booths, printing and copying facilities and an on site café. Hub8 has flexible access from 07:30 to 19:30.
