Pale wards aren't badly connected — almost everywhere here can get at least superfast broadband — they simply have fewer gigabit-ready lines so far. Click any ward for its full breakdown.
Where Does This Data Come From?
- Ofcom's Connected Nations programme, which publishes fixed broadband coverage for every UK postcode. Ofcom refreshes it roughly twice a year.
Is This the Speed I'll Actually Get?
- No — it shows what's available to order, not guaranteed speeds. Your real speed depends on your provider, package, and the line to your home.
What Do the Ward Figures Represent?
- We take every postcode in GL50–GL54, match it to its ward, and average the results, so each ward shows one representative value. A mostly-fast ward can still contain individual streets that lag behind.
Why Show Wards Instead of Postcodes?
- There are several thousand postcodes across these areas — too many to read on a map. Wards group them into recognisable neighbourhoods while keeping the full detail in the table above.
How Current Is It?
- Check the "last updated" date at the top of the page. Because Ofcom publishes about twice a year, very recent rollouts may not appear yet.
