Cheltenham Open Data has added food hygiene ratings for Cheltenham venues, sourced from the Food Standards Agency’s open data.

The new page provides a summary of ratings by business type, along with the total number of venues in each rating category. The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme considers food handling, cleanliness, building condition and food safety management. It does not rate taste, service, value for money, or the quality of the food itself.

• Exempt venues
• Venues awaiting inspection

Ratings include the date of the most recent inspection, since standards can change over time. An exempt or awaiting-inspection status is not the same as a rating, and customers with food safety concerns should contact Cheltenham Borough Council’s environmental health team.
