Cheltenham Open Data Adds Renewable Energy and Gas and Electricity Use

How much solar power Cheltenham has, the solar farms planned nearby, and how much energy the town's homes use.

Cheltenham Open Data has published two new pages: Cheltenham renewable energy and Cheltenham gas and electricity use.

The renewable energy page counts the town’s renewable installations, almost all of them solar panels, and shows how much they can generate and how that has grown each year since 2014. A map shows every larger solar, wind and battery storage project within 12 miles of the town centre, whether it is running, approved or still in planning.

The gas and electricity use page shows how much energy Cheltenham’s homes and businesses use, how a typical home compares with the South West and England since 2005, and a map of use by ward and neighbourhood.
