Cheltenham Open Data has published a new nurseries and childcare page, listing every nursery, pre-school and out-of-school club on Ofsted’s register across GL50–GL54.
It sits alongside the schools in Cheltenham list, so you can follow a child’s whole journey from nursery to secondary school, with Ofsted’s view of each setting along the way.
FAQs
What Does the Childcare Page Show?
- A map and a table of 112 registered childcare providers, with the type of care each one offers, how many children it is registered to care for, its address and its latest Ofsted outcome, linked to the full report.
Which Kinds of Childcare Are Included?
- Full day care nurseries, sessional pre-schools and playgroups, and out-of-school clubs for breakfast, after-school and holiday care. Childminders aren’t listed, because Ofsted doesn’t publish their names or addresses.
What Do the Ofsted Outcomes Mean?
- Nurseries and pre-schools are graded outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate, or have a report card under Ofsted’s newer framework. Out-of-school clubs are checked against Ofsted’s requirements, which they either meet or don’t.
Where Does the Data Come From?
- From Ofsted’s register of childcare providers and inspections, published on GOV.UK under the Open Government Licence. Ofsted updates it every three months, and the page checks for a new release monthly.
