Cheltenham Open Data has published a new home energy ratings page, showing how energy efficient the town’s homes are.
Using the latest Energy Performance Certificate for more than 43,000 homes, the page shows how many are rated each letter from A to G, and maps every ward and neighbourhood by the share of homes rated C or better. You can also shade the map by any single rating, such as where the most F and G rated homes are. Each ward page now has its own energy ratings section too.
Just under half of Cheltenham’s homes with a certificate are rated C or better, the level the government wants as many homes as possible to reach by 2035. The typical home scores 68 on the energy scale behind the letters, one point short of a C, but more than nine in ten could reach C or better with the improvements their own certificates recommend.
The page also breaks ratings down by type of home, tenure and main heating. Homes with a heat pump score highest, and flats do better than houses.
