Cheltenham Open Data has published a new flood zones map, showing the land around Cheltenham that the Environment Agency puts in Flood Zone 2 and Flood Zone 3.
Flood Zone 3, in darker blue, is land with a 1 in 100 or greater chance of river flooding in any year, and Flood Zone 2, in lighter blue, has a 1 in 100 to 1 in 1,000 chance. The page explains what the zones mean, why they ignore flood defences and leave out surface water flooding, which caused much of the damage in 2007, and where to check the flood risk for a specific address.
