Cheltenham Open Data has published a new deprivation page, mapping the English Indices of Deprivation 2025 for all 77 of Cheltenham’s neighbourhoods.

Overall, Cheltenham is one of the less deprived places in England, ranking 234th of 296 districts, where 1 is the most deprived. But the map shows how much that varies across the town, with a handful of neighbourhoods in the most deprived fifth of England a short walk from some of the least deprived anywhere. Every ward page now shows how its own neighbourhoods rank, too.
