FAQs

What Does the Care Homes Page Show?

  • A map and table of 43 care homes with whether each provides nursing care and its overall CQC rating, and a page for every home with its rating on each of the five questions inspectors ask, the date of its latest report and the kinds of care it offers, such as dementia care.
  • A list of home care services that send carers to people’s own homes, with their ratings.

What Do CQC Ratings Mean?

  • The Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and social care in England, rates services outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate, overall and on whether they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

Where Does the Data Come From?

  • From the Care Quality Commission’s directory of registered services and its latest ratings, published monthly under the Open Government Licence. The page is refreshed each weekly.
